About

Keith qualified as an occupational therapist in 2011 and has worked in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, for a national law firm and, since 2017, in the community as an independent occupational therapist.  Keith works sensitively, compassionately, and effectively with people affected by a wide range of conditions including:
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Birth-related disabilities
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Orthopaedic injuries and amputations

Keith is skilled at assessing and understanding the whole person (not just disabilities) as well as their environment, social contexts, and activities that make life meaningful and worthwhile.  This may include physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of life.
Keith has valued the Motivational Interviewing style of communication since meeting Verna in 2011.  Keith uses Motivational Interviewing as a critical element in delivering effective therapy in partnership with people who want positive change in their lives.  Rather than attempting to direct or force change, Keith respects, works with, affirms and develops people’s own motivation.  Occupational therapy skills such as providing aids and adaptations, activity analysis, cognitive training, skill development, and sensory integration can then be delivered with a higher degree of acceptance and success for the client.
Working with individuals and families affected by catastrophic injury and trauma, Keith has frequently observed that emotional, psychological and intrapersonal adjustments often occur alongside more visible changes such as self-care, leisure and productivity.  Keith is training to become an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.  He completed a foundation course in Counselling Skills in 2024 and is currently studying for a Post-Graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Keith continuously improves his knowledge and practice through training including:
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive rehabilitation
  • Fatigue management
  • Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Insomnia/sleep therapy
  • Sensory integration
  • Neurodivergence
  • PTSD and complex PTSD
  • Pain management
  • Use of technology to support rehabilitation

Keith is registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.

He is someone who will consider multiple opinions, approaches and modalities in order to ensure the therapeutic approach is bespoke to the needs of the client/patient. He fosters strong relationships with MDT members, using a collaborative and joined up approach to his therapy provision. Overall, he is a fantastic OT and I would highly recommend him!"

Tom Barclay (Case Manager, TBJ Rehabilitation)

"I had the pleasure of working with Keith on an extremely complex case that involved both physical and cognitive challenges. From the outset, his ability to engage the client and guide them through a focused, stage-by-stage process was impressive. Keith has a remarkable talent for breaking down complex tasks, helping the client stay motivated and achieve their goals step by step. His specialist knowledge in assistive technology was particularly beneficial in this case and proved to be a real asset in facilitating progress. As a team member, Keith was proactive, highly collaborative, and always open to hearing others' perspectives. He integrated feedback seamlessly into his practice, demonstrating a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for the client. His professionalism and positive approach made him an invaluable part of the team.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Keith or instructing him again in the future. His expertise and team spirit are second to none".

Amy Crosby (Director and Case Manager)

"Keith is an excellent OT who really understands the needs of our ABI clients.

He is proactive, thinks out of the box and supports his clients  with rehabilitation without it being clinical.

I would highly recommend Keith to work with our ABI community"
